SAN ANTONIO, Texas
- The top-seeded Trinity duo of Jordan Pitts and Wilson Lambeth captured the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Southwest "A" Doubles Championship on Sunday.

Pitts and Lambeth defeated Kenneth Hardy and Siddarth Kortikere of Austin College, 6-1 6-2, in the final at McMurry University.

Trinity's tandem has qualified for the ITA Cup at Rome, Georgia. They join their Tiger women's counterparts, Mary Kaffen and Zoe Kaffen, who won the ITA Southwest doubles championship a week ago at the Butch Newman Tennis Center.

Earlier in the day the second-seeded Pitts advanced to the "A" Singles Championship with a default semifinals win over #6 Alex Hunt of Hardin-Simmons (TX) University. Ninth-seeded Joshua Bode of Concordia (TX) University prevailed over Pitts 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 in the title matchup.

Lambeth and Pitts won a prestigious title in mid-September at the Hall of Fame ITA Grass Court Invitational at Newport, Rhode Island. The two Tigers brought home the first-ever NCAA Division III crown at the championship with a victory over Larry Zhao and Justin Wang of Bowdoin (ME) College. The event was played at the venerable International Tennis Hall of Fame.

In 2016, Lambeth was paired with current teammate Matt Tyer and won the ITA Southwest Doubles Championship at Tyler, Texas. Lambeth and Tyer advanced to the ITA National Small College Championships.

Lambeth and Pitts will compete in doubles at the ITA Cup October 11-14 at Rome, Georgia.
