TYLER, Texas -- Trinity University's Matt Tyer and Wilson Lambeth captured the doubles title at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Southwest Regional Monday.
The duo entered the tournament as the second-seeded team, and defeated the fifth-seeded duo of Joey Fischer and Pablo Gomez from the University of Texas at Tyler 4-6, 6-3, 11-9.
This is the seventh year in a row that a Trinity men's tandem has won the ITA Region Doubles Championship, and the second year in a row that Tyer has been apart of the winning team.
The pair will now travel to the ITA Oracle Cup in Surprise, Arizona on October 13-16.
