Men's Tennis Recap - Week Three

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Six of the seven Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference men's tennis teams were in action this week.

Austin College went 1-1 on the week, defeatin  LeTourneau University 5-4, but falling to No. 27 University of Texas-Tyler 0-9.

The Schreiner University men continue to impress, moving to 7-0 on the season with identical 7-2 wins over Concordia University and Sul Ross State University.

The Southwestern University men had an outcome similar to Austin College, falling to UTT, but defeating LeTourneau. The Pirates earned one point against the Patriots in a 1-8 loss, but dominated the Yellowjackets 8-1.

The No. 8 Trinity University Tigers competed at the ITA Indoor National Championships this week, finishing in fifth place. In the first match up of the weekend, the Tigers faced No. 6 University of Chicago, the eventual winners of the tournament, and fell 3-6. Saturday, the Tigers bounced back with wins over No. 3 Washington (Mo.) and No. 4 Pomona-Pitzer to earned fifth place.
