Trinity Men's Tennis Stands at No. 7 in Latest ITA Rankings

SKILLMAN, N.J. – The Trinity University men dropped one spot in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings this week, falling to No. 7. The Tigers are also ranked third in the west region, behind Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and Pomona-Pitzer Colleges.

The last competition for TU came at the power-packed Stag-Hen Invitational in Claremont, Calif. The pickd up a first round win over No. 15 Whitman College, but fell to No. 9 Pomona Pitzer and No. 5 Washington University. Before this invitational, the Tigers had won five of their last six matches over Division III ranked opponents as well as their only match against a Division II ranked opponent this season.

Three TU players remain ranked in both singles and doubles in the west region. Adam Krull is second among all singles competitors, while his teammates Aaron Skinner and Jordan Mayer are 11th and 22nd, respectively. The doubles pairing of Skinner and Mayer ranks sixth in the region, while Krull and his doubles partner Clayton Niess are 12th.

Southwestern University is also ranked in the west region, coming in at 16th. Niko Snovely is currently ranked 24th in the region in singles play.

Trinity's next competition will be against NCAA Division II Midwestern State at home Friday before they play host to SCAC opponent Texas Lutheran Satutday. These will be only their fourth and fifth matches at home, and will be first consecutive home matches this season.
