
NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - DePauw University is
set to defend its men's and women's tennis titles Sunday morning at
the 2010 SCAC Tennis Championships at Burns Park. The DePauw men
will take on Trinity University - the eighth consecutive year the
two have played for the men's title. The DePauw women will take on
Sewanee-The University of the South. Both matches are scheduled to
begin at 8 a.m. CDT.
The DePauw men advanced with a 5-2 victory over Rhodes College in
one semifinal. Trinity moved to the finals after blanking
Oglethorpe University, 5-0.
DePauw has won the last three SCAC men's titles.
On the women's side, DePauw advanced with a 6-1 victory over Rhodes
College. The Sewanee women defeated Trinity, 5-3. DePauw has won
the last two SCAC women's tennis titles while Sewanee returns to
the championship round for the first time since 2007 when the
Tigers squeaked out a 5-4 victory over DePauw.
