
JACOB JONES OF UNIVERSITY OF THE OZARKS, a senior from Longview, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week for performances during the period spanning Saturday, September 21 to Sunday, October 13.
Jones had a great opening season to his senior year. At this past weekend's dual against Hendrix College, he won the 100 free in 49.17 and the 200 free in 1:49.73. Jones also came from behind to help the Eagles overtake Hendrix in the 200 freestyle relay with a 21.62 anchor.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Cade Thumann of Colorado College won two events in this weekend's dual victory against Southwestern, and was second in another. He picked up victories in the 200 fly (2:06.49) and the 500 free 5:06.90) and was second in the 200 free (1:49.01) - with all times listed at altitude. His closing speed was impressive in every race. Junior Alek Argueta of Southwestern had a great season opener, winning two events, including the men's 100 breast with a time of 1:00.66 and the men's 200 breast with a time of 2:18.74. He also helped the men win first in the men's 200 medley relay.
