SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Trinity swimmer Jacob Hurrell-Zitelman and diver Daniel Valmassei have been elected to the Google Cloud NCAA Division III Academic All-District 8 Men's At-Large Team.

The teams are selected by members of College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), honoring student-athletes for combined performances in athletics and in the classroom. The Google Cloud Academic All-America Teams will be announced in June.

Hurrell-Zitelman is a junior and has been selected for the Academic All-District Team two years in a row. A business administration major, Hurrell-Zitelman was presented the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Elite 19 Award last February at the SCAC Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Championships. The award is given to a student-athlete with a cumulative GPA of least 3.25 and who earns all-conference honors during the season.

The talented Tiger student-athlete was named the SCAC Male Swimmer of the Meet for the third consecutive year. Hurrell-Zitelman became the first man to achieve that feat since the award was initiated in 2008.

He won the 1,650-yard freestyle for the third time, becoming the first swimmer in SCAC history to attain that honor. Hurrell-Zitelman also captured the 400-yard individual medley, and was runner-up in the 500-yard freestyle. He was a key member of the second-place 800-yard freestyle relay team.

Valmassei is a sophomore physics major. He was earlier tabbed as the SCAC Male Diver of the Meet and Diver of the Year for the second straight occasion. Valmassi won the conference 3-meter board for the second consecutive time and placed third on the low board.

He qualified for the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships and placed fourth on the 1-meter board for All-America accolades. Valmassei finished in 16th place on the high board for Honorable Mention All-America kudos.
