Five Women's, Three Men's Swimming & Diving Programs Earn CSCAA Scholar All-America Honors

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) released the Scholar All-America teams for 2018, with more than 700 collegiate swimming and diving programs earning the honor, including five women's and three men's Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference teams.

Colorado College had both teams earn the honor for the eighth time in a row. The CC women posted a GPA of 3.67 while the men held a 3.47 GPA. Both marks led the way among the SCAC representatives.

Both the men's and women's squads from Austin College and Trinity University also earned Scholar All-America team recoginition. The Trinity men had a 3.09 GPA while the Tiger women held a 3.41 GPA. For Austin College, the men posted a 3.02 GPA while the 'Roo women held a GPA of 3.14.

The Southwestern University women posted the second-highest GPA among SCAC teams with a 3.53. The McMurry University women were also recognized with a GPA of 3.06.

To be selected as a CSCAA Scholar All-America Team, programs must have achieved a grade point average of 3.00 or higher over the spring semester. 

Founded in 1922, the CSCAA is the nation's oldest professional organization of college coaches. Its mission is to serve and provide leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming and diving at the collegiate level.
