
LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Trinity (Texas) University sophomores Andrew Thiesse and Philip Whalen have been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Male Swimmer and Diver-of-the-Week, respectively, for Week Five of the 2013-14 Men's Swimming & Diving season.

Meets through Sunday, November 24th
ANDREW THIESSE OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a sophomore from Williamsburg, Va., has been selected the SCAC Men's Swimmer-of-the-Week for all meets through Sunday, November 24.
Thiesse delivered several outstanding performances and helped the Trinity University men's team to a runner-up finish at the Tiger Western Shootout in Southlake, Texas.
Thiesse won the 1650 freestyle with a 16:41.86 to close the meet which ranks him first in the SCAC and eighth in the nation.
Along the way he recorded the following results - 4:45.07 in the 500 freestyle, 4:16.64 in the 400 IM, and 1:58.80 in the 200 backstroke. He is now at the top of the SCAC leaderboard for the fall semester of 2013 in every one of the events just cited.

PHILIP WHALEN OF TRINITY
UNIVERSITY, a junior from Santiago, Chile, has been
selected the SCAC Men's Diver-of-the-Week for all meets through
Sunday, November 24.
Whalen was the top finishing SCAC diver
on both men's boards at the Tiger Western Shootout
in Southlake, Texas, over this past weekend.
Whalen tallied a total of 143.40 points in the six dive 1-meter event and 132.55 points in the six dive 3-meter competition.
