ADAM BOYER OF CENTRE COLLEGE, a senior defensive midfielder from Louisville Ky., has been selected as the SCAC Men's Soccer Co-Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, September 15 through Sunday, September 21.
Boyer continues
to be the standout player in the tough Colonel defensive unit that
opened SCAC play with a pair of home victories over the weekend. On
Friday against Oglethorpe, Boyer kept the defense
organized as they shutout the Stormy Petrels allowing only four
total shots to Centre’s 15.
Then on Sunday against Sewanee, the Colonels allowed just five
shots to their 16 and Boyer had the assist on the
second goal en route to a 3-1 win.
For the season, Boyer has captained the defense
that is tied for first in total shutouts and ranked third in goals
allowed and goals against average. Boyer also
leads the team with 10 points, tallying four goals and two assists
on the season.
