JonConnor Rule, Trinity University, Defensive Player of the Week (Week 8)
JONCONNOR RULE OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a graduate student defender from San Antonio, Texas, has been named the SCAC Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for games played from Monday, October 14th through Sunday, October 20th. SCAC Men's Soccer Release (Week 8)

Rule was outstanding leading the Trinity defensive effort last weekend that produced a pair of SCAC shutout victories on the road at Dallas (6-0) and Austin College (3-0). Playing 160 of the 180 possible minutes over the two fixtures last week, Rule anchored a back line that allowed just five shots, without a single shot on target to help the Tigers post their seventh and eighth shutout of the year. Additionally, Rule got involved offensively scoring a goal in each match, just the second time in his career he has registered a goal in back-to-back contests.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
First-year goalkeeper Sebastian Lutin of Centenary played all 180 minutes of the Gents' two weekend matches at home against Concordia and McMurry as he tallied 13 saves. The rookie had seven on Friday against the Tornados and six on Sunday against the War Hawks as he now has made 6+ saves in a match six times this season. Senior defender Curtis Hale of Colorado College has been one of the cornerstones this season for the Tigers as CC has strung together seven-straight shutouts. Hale played all but four minutes over the weekend against No. 24 Southwestern and Texas Lutheran. The Tigers limited the Pirates and Bulldogs to an average of eight shots per game, including only four (none on goal) against the Bulldogs. Senior defender Arlen Garcia of Concordia returned from injury and didn't miss a beat in a pair of wins for the Tornados on the road last weekend. He played all 90 minutes in a 3-2 win over Centenary and then played 81 minutes before subbing out with the game out of reach in the 3-0 clean sheet over the Ozarks. Making numerous saves and clear-outs over the weekend, Garcia helped lead the charge as Concordia didn’t allow a single goal in three of the four halves in the two wins. Senior defender Angel Ramirez of St. Thomas was outstanding for the Celts last weekend, playing all 180 minutes in a pair of scoreless draws on the road at TLU and Southwestern. It marked the fourth and fifth shutouts of the season for St. Thomas and the second time this year the Celts have produced back-to-back shutouts, limiting the Bulldogs and the Pirates to a total of just eight shots on target all weekend.
