HUNTER CAIN OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a freshman defender from Katy, Texas, has been named the SCAC Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for games played through Sunday, October 17th. SCAC Men's Soccer Release (Week 7)
Cain continued his torrid pace in the month of October, extending his goal streak to four and helping lift Trinity to a pair of SCAC victories at home last weekend, knocking off Austin College on Friday and Dallas on Sunday. In total, he registered seven points to lead the SCAC on the week, scoring in both fixtures, including a pair of goals and an assist in the win over the ‘Roos and then he buried his second game-winning goal in three games in the win over the Crusaders. Since the calendar flipped to October, Cain has recorded two or more points in all six fixtures, scored three game-winning goals and moved into third in the SCAC in both goals (8) and points (22).

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior forward Charlie Din of Schreiner scored the game-winning goal in the Mountaineers’ 1-0 win over Austin College last Sunday. It marked the first GW goal of the season for Din and his second goal of the year. Sophomore forward Mofe Ariyo of Southwestern returned from injury to score the game-winning marker in the Pirates’ 1-0 victory over Centenary last Friday. It was the first goal of the year for the striker and just his second game-winning goal of his career. Senior forward Luis Green of Texas Lutheran registered three goals last weekend to lead the Bulldogs to a 1-1 mark on the week. In a tough 3-2 overtime loss to St. Thomas, Green scored the go-ahead goal at the time in second half before the Bulldogs came up short in the second extra period and then scored twice, including the game-winner in a 3-1 road victory at Centenary.
