Jacob Galan, Trinity University, Defensive Player of the Week (Week 6)
JACOB GALAN OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior defender from San Antonio, Texas, has been named the SCAC Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for games played through Sunday, April 4th.

Galan led a Tiger defense that held Texas Lutheran to just three total shots in Saturday’s 3-0 shutout victory that kept Trinity tied atop the SCAC standings. Galan held the league’s leading scorer to just one shot in the game, blanking a team that came into the week averaging better than two goals per game. Saturday’s shutout was just the second this season for the Tiger defense.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore goalkeeper Connor Tullis of Austin College registered four saves and posted a shutout as the ‘Roos defeated Schreiner, 1-0, to earn their first victory of the season. Senior midfielder John Schuler of Colorado College helped a Tigers defensive unit that limited Dallas to just eight shots, only three of which were on target in an impressive 5-2 win. Schuler also chipped in offensively with two goals. Freshman defender Reagan Fortner of Southwestern continues to anchor the backline of one of the stingiest defenses, helping to limit Centenary to just four shots in a 2-0 win last weekend for the Pirates. Of the four shots, zero were on target. Southwestern has allowed just two goals in five games this season.
