PHILLIP LE OF AUSTIN COLLEGE, a senior midfielder from Frisco, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men’s Soccer Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played the week of Monday, September 24th to Sunday, September 30th.
Le scored in all three games for the ‘Roos last week, leading Austin College to a 2-1 record with wins against Centenary and Schreiner. Le factored in on three of the four goals scored in the ‘Roos win over Centenary, assisting on the game-winner and scoring a pair of insurance goals.
The senior scored the lone goal for AC in the loss to Trinity and then helped the ‘Roos bounce back with a 3-0 win against Schreiner by chipping in with a goal. On the week, Le registered nine points on four goals and one assist.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore midfielder Miles Montgomery of Colorado College produced a goal and two assists in a pair of road victories against Centenary and East Texas Baptist last week for the Tigers. Sophomore midfielder Brady McNamara of Dallas cored the game-winner in the 58th minute to lead the Crusaders to a 2-1 victory over Trinity to improve to 3-1 in league play. Senior forward Jake Swonke of Southwestern recorded a hat trick in a tough overtime loss to Texas Lutheran in the Pirates lone contest of the week. Freshman forward Luis Green of Texas Lutheran scored twice, including the game-winner, as TLU came from behind to defeat Southwestern in overtime in the Bulldogs’ lone game last week. Trinity forward Austin Michaelis of Trinity led the Tigers to a 2-1 record on the road last weekend, scoring three goals overall and the eventual game-winner against Schreiner on Tuesday.
