QUENTIN VAN DER LEE OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a sophomore midfielder from Aerdenhout, Netherlands, has been selected the SCAC Men’s Soccer Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played the week of Monday, September 17th to Sunday, September 23rd.
Van Der Lee led the Tigers to a pair of home wins in SCAC action this weekend, defeating both Colorado College and Johnson & Wales. Van Der Lee scored a goal and led a defense that yielded just five total shots on Sunday afternoon against JWU. The win marked the fifth-straight victory for Trinity, which has also recorded four shutouts in that time frame.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior defender Eduardo Lopez-Rivera of Texas Lutheran directed a TLU defensive effort that allowed just two goals in two conference matches last week. Lopez-Rivera and the bulldog defense limited Southwestern and Centenary to just four shots total on goal and posted a 1-1 record..
