LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -
The seeds and pairings are now set for the 2018 SCAC Men’s Soccer Tournament following the completion of the regular season schedule on Sunday, October 28th. Conference tournament seeding was based on Points Percentage, which is defined by the total points accumulated by a team divided by the total possible points a team could have accumulated based on actual games played.

Trinity won its fifth-consecutive SCAC regular season title since the conference began recognizing regular season champions in 2014 after finishing with a 12-1-1 record in league play and a .881 points percentage. Trinity leads the SCAC with a 14-2-1 record all-time in tournament play and six conference tournament titles. As the top seed entering the 2018 SCAC Tournament, Trinity will receive a bye and await the winner of Friday’s quarterfinal contest between fourth-seeded Texas Lutheran and fifth-seeded Dallas.

Texas Lutheran earned the fourth-seed after posting a 9-6 record in conference contests and a .600 points percentage. 2018 marks the sixth-straight tournament appearance for the Bulldogs who have posted a record of 3-4-2 in their previous five trips. TLU will look to get back to the semifinals after failing to advance past the quarterfinals for the first time in program history since joining the league.

Dallas secured the fifth-seed with a 7-6 record in league play and a .538 points percentage mark. This will be the fifth-straight and sixth overall appearance at the SCAC Tournament for the Crusaders where they have a 1-4-1 record and are coming a run to championship game in 2017.

TLU and Dallas met twice in the regular season with the Bulldogs emerging victorious in both contests, most recently a 2-1 come-from-behind overtime victory to close out the regular season last Sunday.

Colorado College clinched the second seed in the weekend’s tournament following an 11-4-1 record against SCAC opponents and a .708 points percentage. The Tigers have made seven tournament appearances, including three different runs to the championship match in 2014, 2015 and 2016 and carry an overall record of 4-6-1 in tournament play. As the two-seed, Colorado College earns an opening round bye and will await the winner of Friday’s quarterfinal contest between third-seeded Southwestern and sixth-seeded Austin College.

Southwestern locked up the third seed with an 8-4-2 mark in SCAC play and a .619 points percentage. The Pirates are making their eighth appearance all-time in the SCAC Tournament and have a combined 5-7-1 record in tournament action that includes two trips to the final in 2012 and 2013.

Austin College will make its third-straight and fifth overall trip to the tournament in 2018 after capturing the sixth-seed with a 6-5-2 record in SCAC regular season play and a .513 points percentage. The ‘Roos are coming off back-to-back semifinal appearances in 2016 and 2017 and hold an overall tournament record of 2-4-1.

The quarterfinal contest between Southwestern and Austin College will mark the second straight contest between the two squads as they played to a scoreless draw this past Sunday in the regular season finale for both squads.

The 2018 SCAC Men’s Soccer Tournament gets underway Friday, November 2nd at Southwestern University with the first quarterfinal match set to kick at 11:00 AM CST and the second scheduled for 1:30 PM CST. The tournament winner receives the SCAC’s automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.
