SCAC Men's Soccer Recap - Week Eight

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - The league action began to wind down this weekend as five of the six spots in the upcoming Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Tournament have been clinched.

Trinity University (16-1, 12-1 SCAC) clinched the regular season championship with a pair of wins over the weekend, earning the Tigers the top seed in the tournament. Trinity extended its winning streak to 11 games after defeating Austin College and Centenary College at home.

University of Dallas (12-2-2, 10-1-2 SCAC) earned the second-seed for the SCAC tournament with a 2-0 record this weekend, taking down Southwestern University and Texas Lutheran University. Colorado College (10-3-4, 8-2-3 SCAC) went 1-0-1 for the week to secure the third seed.

Austin College will hold onto the fourth seed for the tournament, going 1-1 this weekend to move to 5-5-3 in SCAC play and 7-6-4 on the season. Following the 'Roos is Texas Lutheran University, totaling 14 poitns with a 4-7-2 record in league action. The Bulldogs clinched the fifth seed for the tournament.

Schreiner University and Southwestern University will have to wait until next weekend to see who earns their way into the sixth seed. Schreiner earned a comeback win over Centenary on Sunday, tying the game at 3-3 with less than a minute remaining and scoring the golden goal in overtime.
