SCAC Men's Soccer Recap - Week Eight

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - This weekend, the field was set for the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Championship, and one top team fell.

The field is set, though teams are still competing for the best seeds. Despite suffering their first loss of the season this weekend, Trinity University (16-1, 12-1 SCAC) secured at least a share of the regular season title, as well as the top seed for the tournament.

Colorado College (14-2-1, 11-2 SCAC) posted a pair of wins and will be the second-seeded team. Southwestern University, Austin College and Texas Lutheran University will all compete for the 3rd-5th seeds, while Dallas will be No. 6.

Texas Lutheran (6-11, 6-7 SCAC) had the biggest win of the week, knocking off No. 1 Trinity in a 3-2 battle at home on senior day. After getting a 2-0 lead early, the Tigers bounced back to make it a tie game at the half. Cameron Townes of TLU scored the game winniner with under 20 minutes remaining in the contest to give the Bulldogs their first-ever win over a #1 ranked team.

Colorado College extended their winning streak to six games after defeating Austin College (9-7-2, 6-6-1 SCAC) and Centenary College (5-12, 2-11 SCAC) on the road.

Centenary did end the week with a win after defeating Dallas 1-0 off of a Crusader own goal.
