KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Colorado College men’s soccer team jumped back into the national rankings this week, joining the Trinity University program.

The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) released the sixth poll of the year Tuesday and Colorado College (11-2-2, 9-1-1 SCAC) made a huge leap to take over the No. 14 spot. Trinity (13-2-0, 9-2 SCAC) came in right behind the fellow Tigers at No. 15. NSCAA Poll

Colorado College faced off against Southwestern University and Texas Lutheran University this weekend, with both teams vying for a spot in the SCAC Men’s Soccer Tournament. CC took down both teams by identical scores of 2-0. The Tigers remain at the top of the SCAC standings with a 9-1-1 record in conference play.

Trinity defeated Austin College and Centenary College last weekend, posting huge wins of 8-0 over both teams. The Tigers are one point behind Colorado College in the conference standings, with a 9-2 record in the SCAC.

Trinity currently leads the SCAC, averaging 2.8 goals per game, while allowing just 0.33. CC is second in both categories, averaging 2.1 goals per game and allowing 0.82.

The two teams split their meetings with each other this year, each earning a victory on their home field. Colorado College defeated Trinity 3-1 at home, while TU earned a 1-0 double overtime victory in San Antonio.

Colorado College will travel to Austin College and Centenary this weekend, while Trinity will take on Southwestern and Texas Lutheran. Both teams have earned a spot in the SCAC tournament, but will need the remaining three matches to decide on the regular season SCAC champion.
