LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Trinity University senior defender Ben Anderson was named first-team Capital One Academic All-District® selections, the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced.
Voting is conducted by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). The National Academic All-America Team will be announced Nov. 22.
Anderson is majoring in Political Science and Classical Studies, and is a key member of a Tiger defense that has allowed just two goals during its current 14-game winning streak. Anderson and the Trinity defense have five consecutive shutouts, and have not allowed a goal to a Division III opponent in the past seven contests.
Trinity clinched the top seed for the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships Tournament with a 1-0 road win over Southwestern University on Friday night. The Tigers will be seeking their second consecutive conference title at the three-day tournament, which runs November 8-10. The SCAC Championships are being hosted by Southwestern in Georgetown, Texas.
