ANDERS ERICKSON OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a junior attacker from Lone Tree, Colo., has been named the SCAC Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, March 1 through Sunday, March 7.
Erickson struck for seven goals and dished out 11 assists to lead Colorado College to a 22-8 win over Adams State University on Saturday. Erickson scored five goals and set up two others during an 11-0 run that turned a 3-2 deficit with 4:20 remaining in the first quarter into a 13-3 with 4:05 to play before halftime.
Erickson became the first Tiger to record 11 points in a game since 2011 when Carson Christman produced four goals and seven assists during a 28-0 victory over Oglethorpe on April 8. He also is the first CC player to notch seven goals in a game since Tyler Borko scored seven in the 18-14 victory over Williams College on March 30.
Erickson leads the Tigers with 14 goals, 11 assists and 25 points.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore attacker Mark Temple of Centenary scored two goals, his sixth and seventh of the season, in Centenary's 7-4 SCAC win over Dallas at home on Sunday. The win was the first for the Gents program since reestablishing as a varsity program before last season. Temple also recorded three assists in one of the best performances of his young career. Temple also scored a goal in a non-conference match at Hendrix on March 4.
