STEVE RIJO OF COLORADO
COLLEGE, a senior attacker from Basking Ridge,
N.J., has been selected the SCAC Men's Lacrosse Offensive
Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, March 25 through
Sunday, March 31.
Rijo scored six goals and scooped up
three ground balls as Colorado College opened its conference
schedule with victories at the University of Dallas and
Southwestern University.
Playing just 15 minutes during Friday’s 23-1 triumph over the Crusaders, Rijo scored twice and grabbed one ground ball while playing just 15 minutes. His first goal 6:03 into the contest proved to be the game winner.
In Sunday’s 15-4 win against the Pirates, Rijo struck for a season-high four markers and recorded a pair of ground balls. With 17 goals, 10 assists and 27 points, Rijo ranks third on the team in all three offensive statistics.
