CHASE MURPHY
OF COLORADO COLLEGE a first-year goalie from
Cohasset, Mass., has been selected the SCAC Men's Lacrosse
Defensive Player-of-the-Week for games played from Friday, February
8 through Sunday, February 24.
Murphy made 23 saves and grabbed four ground
balls to help Colorado College open its 2013 season with a pair of
victories on the road.
In his collegiate debut, Murphy made 16 saves and
scooped up four ground balls to help the Tigers defeat Greensboro
College, 9-8, in double overtime. He made two saves in the first
overtime and helped CC’s man-down unit keep the Pride scoring
in nine of 10 opportunities.
During the 11-8 victory at Guilford College,
Murphy recorded seven saves and a pair of ground
balls.
