SCAC Men's Lacrosse Recap - Week Five

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference men's lacrosse continued this week, highlighted by the first intra-conference matchup of the season. 

Southwestern (4-0) traveled to Shreveport on Saturday and came away with a 27-1 victory over Centenary. Southwestern won 30 of 31 faceoffs in the win, with fifteen different Pirates scoring. Cody Foster and Nick Doxey, each had four goals on five shots, and both had two assists to tie for the team lead in points with six. Zac Asbury followed with three goals and one assist. 

Colorado College (5-0) had a pair of big wins over the week with a 17-6 victory over Otterbein on Wednesday followed by a 20-3 victory over Haverford on Sunday. Makay Hansen produced six goals and seven points, while Winston Chodnicki won 18 of 23 faceoffs and 20 ground balls to help lead the Tigers on Wednesday. On Sunday, Cooper Lee tied his career-high with four caused turnovers, while Billy Hutchison grabbed a career-best five ground balls.    

Dallas (0-3) fell to Hilbert, 14-13, on Tuesday. The Crusaders went on a six-goal run in the final 10 minutes, but their comeback effort fell just short. Jake Frederick paced UD with a game-high six goals while adding an assist and a personal-best 12 ground balls.  

Centenary (0-6) fell 20-8 to Hilbert on Thursday. Michael Mosura scored three goals with an assist while Brooks Smitha matched Mosura with three goals of his own.  

JWU (0-4) had an 0-3 week on the road. Jack Towsley and Nick Botnick each scored twice for the Wildcats over the weekend.  

SCAC men's lacrosse action continues this week with all five teams on the schedule.
