SCAC Men's Lacrosse Recap - Week Seven

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – All four of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference men's lacrosse squads hit the turf for action last week. 

Colorado College (6-3) split its games, falling to Sewanee on Tuesday but defeating Springfield (Mass.), 13-12, on Saturday. The Tigers were led by junior attack Coby Petau who netted six goals, including a four-goal performance in the win over Springfield, and two assists. Senior midfielder Tyler Borko put away a team-high 13 points on the week while senior midfielder Tom Haller notched a career-high four goals against Sewanee. Between the posts, junior goalkeeper Andrew Harwood made 25 saves in 120 minutes for the Tigers. 

Southwestern (7-4) also went 1-1 last week, dropping a 24-8 decision to Berry but bouncing back to down North Central (Ill.), 17-9, on Thursday. On the week, sophomore Zac Asbury contributed 11 points with five goals and six assists. In the win over North Central, the Pirates spread their offense to include 11 different scorers in the game. Sophomore Benjamin Libby paced the winning effort, putting away three goals in the contest while Jack Doloszycki, Kai Knight-Turcan, Cody Foster and Logan Spalding scored two goals, each. Senior goaltender Kyle Kuberski managed the majority minutes in net for the Pirates in the win, posting a 61.5 save percentage. 

In its lone game of the week, Dallas (0-6) was defeated, 20-5, by North Central (Ill.) as sophomore Jake Frederick led the team in scoring with two goals. 

Johnson & Wales (1-6) dropped a pair of decisions to Marian and Whittier over the weekend. Junior attack Coleton Threlkeld grabbed two goals on the week while freshman defender Justin DeFoe netted his second goal of the season against Whittier. 

The SCAC men's lacrosse schedule continues on Monday when Colorado College welcomes Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
