LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference men's lacrosse schedule eclipsed the halfway mark in a busy week last week as three teams took the field for action.
Southwestern (6-3) was a triple winner last week, defeating Cornell College, Pfeiffer and William Peace, but fell to Swarthmore on Wednesday. The Pirates tallied 82 goals over the four-game stretch while allowing half as many to their opponents. Sophomore attack Zac Asbury led the way for the Pirates averaging 8.5 points per game with 15 goals and 19 assists on the week. Against Cornell College, Asbury had a historic performance, tying the league's single-game assist record of eight while breaking the single-game points record with 14 in the contest. Senior Kai Knight-Turcan also had a stellar week for Southwestern, collecting 15 goals and six helpers, totaling 21 points. Between the posts, senior goalkeeper Kyle Kuberski managed 120 minutes and made 27 saves through three games for the Pirates.
Colorado College (5-2) earned a pair of wins over Elmhurst and Salve Regina last week. CC provided a balanced attack with seven Tigers collecting five or more points over the two-game week. Senior midfielder Tyler Borko led CC in points with 10 while sophomore John Sutro and junior Max Rieser had five goals each, scoring eight and seven points, respectively. Junior Ben Suddah and senior Tom Haller both added six points and sophomore Boe Gold and junior Coby Petau notched five each. In net, junior Andrew Harwood posted a 2.33 goals against average in 77:19 minutes for the Tigers.
In its lone game of the week, Dallas (0-5) dropped a 14-9 decision to Cornell College on Wednesday. In the effort, sophomores Tucker Jameson and Chasen Reynolds and freshman Austin Gibbons netted two goals each.
The SCAC men's lacrosse schedule continues on Tuesday when Colorado College hosts Sewanee, Southwestern heads to Berry and Dallas takes on North Central (Ill.).
