LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference men's lacrosse season picked up last week with all four teams taking the field for action. 

Colorado College (3-2) defended home turf over the weekend, defeating Rhodes 17-11 in its lone game of the week. Sophomore John Sutro picked up his second-straight hat-trick performance for the Tigers in a four-point effort while senior Aaron Maslow and freshman Elliot Nelson notched their first triple-goal performances of the season. Junior Coby Petau extended his scoring streak to five games, with two in the contest and goaltender Andrew Harwood picked up his third-straight win in net for CC, making nine saves through 60 minutes. 

Southwestern (3-2) went 1-1 last week, falling to Trine early in the week but bouncing back to defeat Chatham, 20-12. Against Chatham, seniors Everett Barger and Jared Welsh netted a season high of four goals, each. Sophomore Zac Asbury chipped in with a game-high of eight points while senior Logan Spalding added three goals as well. Between the posts, senior Kyle Kuberski made 17 saves for the Pirates.

Dallas (0-4) dropped a 24-7 decision to Trine on Wednesday. The Crusaders were paced on offense by freshman Tucker Jameson who put away three goals in the contest. Freshman goalkeeper Cole Griffin made 22 saves in the effort for Dallas.

Johnson & Wales (1-4) fell to Hendrix, 29-1, on Friday with senior Deshaunte Longley netting the lone goal for the Wildcats.

Three of the league’s four men’s teams are in action this week with Southwestern leading the way with four contests over the next seven days.
