SCAC Men's Lacrosse Recap - Week Two

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Two teams made their 2019 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference men's lacrosse debuts over the weekend: Colorado College and Johnson & Wales.

Southwestern picked up its second win of the season, a 16-7 victory over Hendrix on Sunday. The Pirates were led by senior attack Kai Knight-Turcan who netted four goals and one assist. Classmate Jared Welsh collected his fair share of points as well with a game-high of eight on a three goal, five assist performance. Sophomore Zac Asbury and senior Logan Spalding also contributed five points, each. Earlier in the week, the Pirates were edged, 13-12, by Birmingham Southern.  

Colorado College fell in its first two games of the season, falling to No. 13 Christopher Newport in the season opener on Friday and No. 14 Stevens on Sunday. The Tigers were led by sophomore attach John Sutro who tallied three goals and two assists.

On Sunday, Johnson & Wales dropped a 15-1 decision to Division II opponent Adams State.

The SCAC men's lacrosse season continues on Friday when Johnson & Wales travels to Northwestern-St. Paul.
