Southwestern's Anderson; Skinner Earn SCAC Players of the Week

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Freshman attackman Kyle Anderson and sophomore midfielder Dakota Skinner of Southwestern University have been named the SCAC Men's Lacrosse Players of the Week for their outstanding effort this past week.

 

 

 

 

 

SCAC OFFENSIVE PLAYER-OF-THE-WEEK
Games of  February 17th – February 23rd

KYLE ANDERSON OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a freshman attackman from Monument, Colo., has been selected the SCAC Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, February 17th through Sunday, February 23rd.

Anderson led the Southwestern Pirates to their best start in school history as they defeated Millsaps College 15-8 to go to 3-0 on the season.

In the win, Anderson scored two goals on eight shots with four being on goal. He added in three ground balls and caused one turnover. 

For the season, Anderson is third on the team with four goals and is 11-for-24 thus far on face offs. He is tied for first among the team with a 60% shooting percentage (minimum of 15 shots taken).

 

SCAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER-OF-THE-WEEK
Games of  February 17th – February 23rd

DAKOTA SKINNER OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a sophomore midfielder from Murphy, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, February 17th  through Sunday, February 23rd.

Skinner led the Southwestern Pirates to their best start in school history as they defeated Millsaps College 15-8 to go to 3-0 on the season.

During Friday's victory, Skinner picked up a team high five groundballs and caused two turnovers while committing none. 

For the season, Skinner leads the team with 12 groundballs while causing two turnovers. He is also 2-for-2 is faceoffs this season and has been a catalyst for Southwestern's defensive success thus far in 2014.
