Southwestern's Timian, Downing Named SCAC Men's Lacrosse Players of the Week

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Senior midfielder Tyler Downing and junior midfielder Jackson Timian have been named SCAC Men's Lacrosse Players of the Week for their outstanding performances this past week.

 

 

 

 

 

 

SCAC OFFENSIVE PLAYER-OF-THE-WEEK
Games of  April 14th – 20th

TYLER DOWNING OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a senior midfielder from Austin, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, April 14th through Sunday, April 20th.

Downing sturck for five goals and added two assists on his Senior Day to lead the Pirates to a 24-0 drubbing of Centenary.

The senior did his most damage in a 10 point second quarter, connecting on three of his goals as well as an assist.

Defensively, Downing added five ground balls as the Pirates tied a school record for most goal in a game and ended their regular season with a school record 10 wins. 

 

SCAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER-OF-THE-WEEK

JACKSON TIMIAN OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a junior midfielder from Southlake, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, April 14th through Sunday, April 20th.

Timian led a dominant defense, picking up a career-high six ground balls in a 24-0 win over Centenary to end in the regular season.

Timian added four assists on the evening and scored the second goal of the game to set the tone in the victory.

Timian led a Pirate team that earned a school record 10 wins on the season while earning a shutout in the process.
