Southwestern's Zeiler, Downing Named SCAC Men's Lacrosse Players of the Week

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Senior midfielder Tyler Downing and junior defender Travis Zeiler of Southwestern University have been named SCAC Men's Lacrosse Players-of-the-Week after their brilliant effort last weekend.

 

 

 

 

 

SCAC OFFENSIVE PLAYER-OF-THE-WEEK
Games of  March 24th – March 30th

TYLER DOWNING OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a senior midfielder from Austin, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, March 24th through Sunday, March 30th.

Downing led the Pirates to a 2-0 week, defeating Huntingdon and also knocking off conference for Centenary.

Downing had a huge week with five goals and two assists for seven points to lead the Pirates offensively. 

Downing took 12 shots, eight on goal, for a .667 shots on goal percentage and .417 shot percentage. He also recorded two ground balls. 

 

SCAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER-OF-THE-WEEK
Games of  March 24th – March 30th

TRAVIS ZEILER OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a junior defender from El Segundo, Calif., has been selected the SCAC Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, March 24th through Sunday, March 30th.

Zeiler led the Pirates to a 2-0 week, defeating Huntingdon and also knocking off conference for Centenary.

Zeiler had a team high 11 ground balls in the two wins for the Pirates. 

Zeiler also caused two turnovers in the victories.
