RICKY MITCHELL OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a sophomore from San Antonio, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men’s Golfer-of-the-Week for competition played from Sunday, October 13 through Tuesday, October 15. SCAC Golf Release (Week 5)
Mitchell paced the Pirates at the prestigious Golfweek October Classic, which was held October 13-15 in Sandestin at the 6,623 yard, par 71 Raven Golf Club. Mitchell shot rounds of 73-70-69 to finish with a three-day total of 212, good for a tie for 20 among the 120 player field featuring some of the best teams in Division III. His final round 69 catapulted him 10 places up the leaderboard and led Southwestern to an eighth-place team finish.
The sophomore tied for sixth among the field in par 4 scoring, finishing the tournament at -4 on those holes.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior Andrew Bennett of Centenary shot a 73 (+1) to lead Centenary in Monday's single-round dual against Southern University, which was played at Oakwing Golf Club in Alexandria, La.
