Jake Sitterle, Schreiner University, Men's Golfer of the Week (Week 6)

JAKE SITTERLE OF SCHREINER UNIVERSITY, a freshman from Dripping Springs, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men’s Golfer-of-the-Week for competition from October 9 through October 15.

Sitterle earned medalist honors after rounds of 69 and 70 for a 3-under-par 139 at the Trinity Alamo City Classic, which was played Monday and Tuesday at the Quarry Golf Club. He and Robert Quintana of Hardin-Simmons, who duplicated Sitterle's two-day total of 139, were the only golfers in the field to finish under par. Sitterle finished as medalist after defeating Quintana on the second playoff hole. On the first playoff hole, both players made par and on the second hole of the playoff (hole No. 11) Sitterle made a birdie and Quintana's birdie lipped out.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior Cade Osgood of Southwestern shot three rounds of 70 to finish -3 and tied for seventh in the 90-player field at the prestigoius Golfweek Division III Fall Invite in Destin, Fla. Senior Alex Fernandez of Johnson & Wales broke his own school record for the single-lowest round in team history with an opening round 4-under 67 at the Revolutionary Classic. The senior maintained his lead during Sunday's second and final round with a 2-over 73 to win the individual tournament championship at -2. Senior Peyton Bartee of Trinity led the Tigers with rounds of 70 and 73 for a one-over par 143 - good for a third place finish in the 49-player field at the Alamo City Classic. Sophomore Chase Maus of Texas Lutheran bounced back from an opening 78 to post one-under 70 on Tuesday to lead the Bulldgos and finish tied for 13th at the Alamo City Classic. Freshman Jacob Trevino of Dallas, who finished at +8 and tied for 17th on the individual leaderboard after rounds of 76 and 74, paced the Crusaders at the Alamo City Classic.
