CADE OSGOOD OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a junior from Austin, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men’s Golfer-of-the-Week for competition played from Wednesday, March 13 through Tuesday, March 19.
Osgood led the Pirates, scoring a 72 in each of the first two rounds and 74 in the third for a score of 218 to finish two over par, tied for 22nd at the Jekyll Island Collegiate. In a field of 150 golfers, 47 of which were ranked among the top 100 golfers in all of Division III, Osgood led Southwestern to a ninth-place team finish in the prestigious event.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior Reed Balcerowicz of Centenary led the Gents with rounds of 73 and 76 for a two-round score of 149 (+5) and tied for second among individuals at the Hal Sutton Invite. Sophomore Seth McNeil of Dallas paced the Crusaders with a two-round score of 158 and a 12th-place finish at the Hal Sutton Invite. Junior James Shalhoup of Johnson & Wales shot a 10-over 82 on Sunday to finish in a tie for 15th at the Willamette Valley Cup.
