JORDAN COWART OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a senior from Austin, Texas, has been named the SCAC Men’s Golfer of the Week for tournaments played through Tuesday, September 30.
Cowart finished the Gordin Classic in a tie for eighth place, leading the Pirates to a top five team finish. He carded a 69 through the first 18 holes before struggling in the afternoon, shooting a 77. Cowart was able to put up a 73 in the third and final round for an overall mark of 219 (+3).
This is Cowart’s third competition of the Fall 2014 season. He started the season with a 16th place finish at the John Bohmann Memorial Invitational before heading to the Rhodes College Fall Classic where he earned a ninth place finish.
Cowart’s first round score of 69 is his lowest for the year. He is also averaging a score of 72.40.
The Pirates will continue competition at the Oglethorpe Invitational in Flowery Branch, Ga. next weekend.

Jamie Gibson of
Centenary College, a senior from Barnsley, England, paced
the Gents at the Al Jones Jr. Memorial Tournament as they earned a
third place team finish. Gibson finished in a tie for sixth place
with a 36-hole score of 146.
