CHEYNE KENDALL
OF SCHREINER UNIVERSITY, a senior from Deer Park,
Texas, is named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference
Men’s Golfer of the Week for tournaments played through
Tuesday, February 17, 2015.
Kendall helped lead the seventh-ranked
Mountaineers to a win during their first competition of the spring
season at the Linda Lowery Invitational. Kendall placed second,
totaling 151 over the two-day invitational. His first round score
of 73 (+1) came during brutal weather conditions, and he was one of
only three golfers to post a mark under 78 that day.
Kendall notched a second round score of 78 (+6),
earning his second place finish. He was one of five Mountaineers to
place in the top 20, while helping the team to a dominating finish.
Schreiner held an eight-shot advantage in first place, in front of
fellow SCAC members Southwestern and Texas Lutheran.
