SCAC Men's Golf Fall Recap - Week One

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Five of the league's six men's golf teams hit the links for their fall debuts earlier this week with all five participating in the John Bohmann Memorial Tournament hosted by Texas Lutheran University.

Two-time defending SCAC Player-of-the-Year Tyler Gammill of Southwestern led the Pirates to a second-place finish with a two-under-par 214 for three rounds (72-71-71), finishing seven strokes behind Will Arend of Concordia at the Max Starcke Park Municipal Golf Course.

Southwestern fired rounds of 289, 292 and 286 for a total of 867.

Texas Lutheran finished third out of nine teams as the Bulldogs registered a final score of 872 after rounds of 296, 287 and 289. TLU junior Colin Uecker paced the Bulldogs with a second-place overall finish. The Kerrville, Texas native fired a final round 70 (1-under) and finished the tournament at 1-under 212. Uecker posted scores of 70, 72 and 70 over two days.

Dallas shot a final-round 291 and broke the school record for lowest in three rounds with an 874 fo place fourth. After setting three program bests on Monday, Dallas buried another long-standing mark, 952, held at the NAIA District 8 Championship in Fort Worth on May 4-5, 1981.

Thomas Schuberg notched a personal-best 70 in the final frame to give him the best finish individually by UD with a 215. He tied for seventh and also matched UD Hall of Famer Dan Cruse for the lowest three rounds score. Cruse etched his number at the Gatesville Invitational in 1959.

Trinity shot a third-round 290 Tuesday and finished fifth. The Tigers carded an 875 three-round total and were just one stroke behind fourth-place Dallas.

Dawson Dally shot a par-71 and finished in a tie for third place, up from the fifth position. Dally completed the event with a 1-over 214, and earned All-Tournament recognition.

Led by a 214 (+1) performance from Jacob Gentry. Schreiner finished with a three-round score of 880 to finish five shots behind Trinity and in sixth place. The Mountaineers shot the low round on Tuesday with a 281 after rounds of 298 and 301 on Monday.

No. 18 Concordia (Texas) won the tournament with rounds of 286, 284 and 286 for a total of 856.
