SCAC Men's Golf Spring Recap - Week Five

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Three Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference men's golf teams were in action this week.

Southwestern University traveled to the prestigious Jekyll Island Invitational over the weekend, taking on a field that contained seven of the nation's top 10 teams and 14 total ranked #20 or better. The field was made up of 150 golfer among 29 teams, with five players competing as individuals.

The Pirates finished in 14th place, carding a three-round score of 912. The team was led by Matthew Christl who finished in a tie for 43rd place with a 54-hole score of 225. Sutherland Stith was close behind with a score of 227 for a 55th place finish.

The University of Dallas and Centenary College both competed at the Hal Sutton Intercollegiate in Shreveport, La. this week. The Crusaders took fifth in the event, while Centenary finished just behind in sixth place.

Dallas was led by Tommy Schuberg and Erik Hamm who tied for ninth place in the event after each carding a 153 (+9). This marked the third-best score among the Division III players competing.

Centenary's Brodey Warner paced the Gents, finishing in 19th place with a score of 158 (+14).
