Southwestern No. 9, Trinity No. 14 in First Spring Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll

NORMAN, Okla. – The first Division III Bushnell Golfweek Division III Coaches Poll was released in February and two Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference men’s golf teams made the top 25.

After three top-five finished in the fall season, the Southwestern University Pirates jumped five spots to No. 9 in the rankings. The Pirates highlighted 2015 with an eighth place finish at the competitive Golfweek Fall Invitational in Florida.

Trinity University fell one spot to No. 14 in the latest poll. The Tigers earned a second place finish at the Alamo City Classic in the fall, as well as taking second at the UMHB Fall Intercollegiate.

The Schreiner University Mountaineers fell out of the top 25 after the fall season, but are still receiving votes in the poll. Texas Lutheran University is also receiving votes, though they have won two competitive tournaments since the rankings were released.

The next time these four teams will meet is at the West Region Invitational, hosted by Southwestern.
