Oglethorpe Tied for Eighth; Centre Tenth After Day One of NCAA Tournament

HERSHEY, Pa. - Oglethorpe University and Centre College men's golf teams teed off at the NCAA Golf Championships today in Round One action. Oglethorpe fired a team total of 307 (+19) and are tied for 8th place heading into Round Two. The Colonels completed the first round with a team score of 308 (+20) to put them in 10th place.

Oglethorpe, the 2009 defending national champions, were led by senior Scott Pugh who fired a round of even par 72 and is in a tie for third.

Senior Chris Conkright and junior Chris Morris are leading the way for the Colonels after each shooting a 75 on the first day. They are both currently tied for 18th place.

Skidmore College is leading after the first day with a team score of 295, while Tain Lee from Claremont Mudd Scripps is the individual leader after shooting a 69.
