
ROBERT
KITZINGER OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a
senior guard from Carmel, Ind., has been selected the SCAC Men's
Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday,
December 2nd through Sunday, December 8th.
Kitzinger led the Tigers to a 2-1
record last week, opening SCAC play with a win over Southwestern,
then splitting weekend games in Chicago, Illinois.
Kitzinger averaged 17.0 points/game and
5.7 rebounds/game over the weekend, hitting 44.4% (16-36) from the
field and 83.3% (15-18) from the foul line for the
weekend.
Against
Southwestern, Kitzinger scored
a double-double with 21 points and 10 boards to lead the Tigers to
a 55-47 win. He connected on 7-13 from the field in the game.
In Friday's win over
Albion, Kitzinger hit a
pair of free throws with two seconds remaining to ice a 70-67
victory. He finished his week with 19 points and five
rebounds in the loss to Chicago.
For the
season, Kitzinger leads
Trinity with 15.8 points/game, and is shooting 37.4% (43-115) from
the field. He also leads the team with 19 three-pointers made
(19-59, 32.2%) and is averaging 4.9 rebounds/game this
year.
