KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced the 10th annual Team Academic Excellence Awards last week and four Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference men's basketball programs were recognized. Full Release

These awards recognize outstanding academic achievement by a team with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better for the 2021-22 season.

The SCAC was represented by Colorado College, Schreiner University, Southwestern University and Trinity University. Trinity has earned the distinction in all 10 years since the award was established in 2012-13, while Southwestern earned the accolade for the second-straight season and ninth time in program history. Colorado College was honored for the seventh time in program history.

Earlier this week, a record 28 SCAC individuals, including eight from Southwestern, seven from Colorado College and six from Trinity earned NABC Honors Court accolades.

In order to earn a NABC Team Academic Excellence Award, institutions in the NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA must count the grade point averages of all men’s basketball student-athletes who competed during the 2021-22 season.
