LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. --  The fourth week of SCAC Men’s Basketball continued with 15 contests throughout the Thanksgiving Holiday. 

After victories over Dallas Christian (116-70) and Concordia Texas (100-68) St. Thomas moves to 4-0 to open a season for the first time since 2012-13. St. Thomas is averaging a league leading 102.3 points-per-game after surpassing the 100-point mark just twice a year ago. In the 32-point win over Concordia, Cameron Gims led the Celts with 16 points and nine rebounds with Nathan Thormaehlen recording a double-double of 14 points and 14 rebounds.    

In its only game of the week, Southwestern (3-2 Overall) took down Hardin-Simmons, 88-80. Brandon Alexander led the Pirates with 16 points and eight rebounds with four other players scoring in double-figures. 

Four SCAC teams split games over the week. 

Dallas (4-1) picked up its fourth consecutive win of the season on Friday with a 85-71 victory over Whittier before falling to Chapman, 59-39. The 4-0 start equaled the Crusaders’ best since they opened the 2014-15 season with seven consecutive wins. In Friday’s victory, the Crusaders were led by Dustin Mathis with 25 points and five assists and Jacob Giunta added  17 points and eight rebounds.

Colorado College gained its split with a win over No.21 Whitman (95-92) on Saturday – the programs first victory over a Top-25 opponent since the Tigers posted two victories over Whitworth in a span of eight days in 2013. In the victory, Eric Jonas had 26 points and Cooxooeii Black recorded a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds. 

Centenary picked up its win over Howard Payne, 96-82 as all five starters reached double-figure point production - for the first time since an 82-68 victory over Dallas, February 5, 2017. In Saturday’s loss to Hardin-Simmons, Cedric Harris led the Gents with a double-double of 26 points and 14 rebounds. 

Trinity (1-4 Overall) gained its first win of the season, a 90-78 victory over Howard Payne on Monday. Stephen Molina led the Tigers with 21 points with Jordan Lippman adding 19 points and 11 rebounds. 

Austin College is now 3-2 in non-conference play after an 88-70 loss to University of Ozarks, 88-70 On Tuesday. The ‘Roos were led by Tristin Dick with 16 points.  

Johnson & Wales fell to Whitman (102-62) and Sul Ross St. (91-76) over the Thanksgiving break. Andray Thomas Jr. led the Wildcats in the loss to Sul Ross St., recording his second double-double of the season with 27 points and 15 rebounds. 

Week five of SCAC Men’s Basketball action continues this week with only five teams on the schedule, highlighted by Dallas traveling to former SCAC member Hendrix College on Saturday.
