LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Just over four weeks remain for Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference men's basketball teams to claim their spot in the conference tournament and a chance at the league's automatic qualifying bid into the NCAA Tournament.

Texas Lutheran (12-6, 7-2) currently sits at the top of the standings following a pair of league victories last week, extending its win streak to five games. TLU opened the week with an impressive six-point road win against Southwestern (9-8, 6-2) on Tuesday and returned home to defeat Dallas (6-10, 4-4) on Friday, 79-60. Nathan Josephs helped lead the way for TLU on the week combining for 28 points, six assists, five rebounds and two steals in the two victories. TLU has now won nine of its last 10 contests since a 3-5 start and the current five game winning streak the Bulldogs are riding is the first since the 2016-17 season.

Southwestern, despite falling to TLU, sits second in the league standings and bounced back with an impressive, 93-67, victory against Dallas on Saturday. In the win, Brandon Alexander led the way with 21 points as the junior forward has now hit the 20-point plateau in four of his last six games.

Johnson & Wales (13-6, 6-4) split a pair of tough road SCAC games over the weekend, defeating Trinity on Friday night, before falling to Schreiner on Saturday. Against Trinity, Andrew Romero III scored the final seven points for the Wildcats down the stretch, including burying the game-winning three with one second remaining to secure the victory.

Centenary (7-9, 4-3) picked up a 21-point victory over Austin College (6-10, 2-5) in its lone contest of the week to get back above .500 in league play. The Gents were paced by Cedric Harris in the win, posting his first double-double of the season with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Centenary has now won two straight, four of its last five and improved to 5-1 when connecting on 10 or more three-point field goals in a single game.

Schreiner (7-9, 3-4) vaulted up the standings, snapping a three-game skid with a pair of league victories at home over the weekend. On Friday, Matthew Rindahl scored 10 of his team-high 16 points in the second half to lead the Mountaineers to a 68-60 win over Colorado College (6-13, 2-8). Schreiner followed that performance up by shooting 50 percent from the field (28-of-56) en route to an 81-76 victory against JWU on Saturday.

Trinity (3-14, 3-5) despite falling in a heartbreaker to JWU to open the conference homestand on Friday, responded with a 21-point victory against Colorado College on Saturday. In the win, Isaiah Specks led the way with 16 points as the Tigers reached the 70-point plateau for the fourth time this season.

SCAC action continues this week with two games scheduled on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday and one game set for Sunday.
