LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- It was a tough week for Southern College Athletic Conference men’s basketball teams as eight of nine teams were in action and combined to post just a 3-11 record against non-conference opponents.

Colorado College (4-3) was the lone program to secure multiple wins last week, after posting a 2-1 record, including back-to-back wins over Whitter (101-82) and UC Santa Cruz (69-65) following an opening week loss to UC-Colorado Springs. The Tigers were led on the week by CooXooEii Black, who averaged 24.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game, highlighted by a career-high 33 points and 10 rebounds in the victory over Whittier. It marked the third double-double of the season for the junior.

Johnson & Wales (5-1) defeated Whittier, 99-87, on Saturday to extend its best start in program history before losing for the first time all season, 73-69, on Sunday to UC Santa Cruz.
