LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Austin College sophomore guard Justice Mercadel was named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week for the week of December 16th, it was announced by D3hoops.com.
Mercadel had an outstanding week for Austin College, averaging 24.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 1.5 steals-per-game while shooting 65 percent from the field and 88 percent from the free throw line. Mercadel led the ‘Roos to a 2-0 week as he scored 26 against Paul Quinn and followed that up with 23 in a win over Hendrix. He flirted with a triple double against PQC, adding nine rebounds and seven assists in that victory.
Mercadel is the second SCAC men’s student-athlete to earn D3hoops.com National TOTW honors in 2018-19, joining Johnson & Wales’ Jontrell Herman who was recognized in week one. This marks the second time in Mercadel’s career the Little Elm, Texas native has earned National TOTW cachet, he was recognized in week seven last season as a freshman.
