Johnson & Wales' Herman Named to D3Hoops.com Team of the Week

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Johnson & Wales (Denver) senior guard Jontrell Herman was named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week for the week of November 18th, it was announced by D3hoops.com.

Herman led the JWU to a pair of non-conference victories last week to get the Wildcats off to their first 2-0 start since the 2004-2005 season. The Mississippi native averaged 32.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists to lead Johnson & Wales to wins over Wisconsin-River Falls and Iowa Wesleyan on Friday and Saturday at the Tiger Tip-Off Tournament at Colorado College. A product of Castle View High School in Castle Rock, Colo., Herman knocked down 7-of-12 attempts from the 3-point line (58.3 percent) in the two games while shooting 55.0 percent from the floor.

Herman opened the season by matching a career high with 34 points in an 85-81 win over UWRF on Friday, following that up with a 31-point effort the next day in a 95-73 win over Iowa Wesleyan.

Herman is the first SCAC men's student-athlete to earn D3hoops.com National TOTW recognition since Centenary's Travion Kirkendoll was recognized in Week 9 of the 2017-18 season.

The D3hoops.com Team of the Week recognizes five players -- two backcourt and three frontcourt players -- each week. To see the full D3hoops.com Team of the Week, click here.
