Southwestern's Alexander Earns D3Hoops.com All-Region Recognition

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Southwestern University's Brandon Alexander was recognized by D3hoops.com Monday as the website released the 2018-19 All-South Region teams. A First Team selection, Alexander was the only SCAC men's player to earn All-Region honors.

The league's Player-of-the-Year, Alexander finished fourth in the SCAC in scoring (18.1 points per game), the highest single-season scoring average in program history since Southwestern joined the conference prior to the 1994-95 season. The junior was also fourth in the league in three-point field goals made (66), third in free throw percentage (83.0 percent) and ninth in rebounding (6.2 per game). He had an 11-game stretch following Christmas break where he averaged 22.9 points and 7.2 rebounds per game, including a 32-point, 11-rebound performance against Dallas on January 12.

He had a game-high 29 points and earned All-Tournament honors in his team's 91-84 loss to Dallas in the SCAC semifinals.

Alexander is just the second Southwestern men's basketball student-athlete to earn D3hoops.com All-Region honors. Aaron Bowser earned First Team honors in 2004-05, when he, like Alexander, was named SCAC Player-of-the-Year.
