SCAC Men's Basketball Recap - Week Seven

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference men's basketball action was in full swing this weekend as all the teams begin their quest to earn a trip to Colorado Springs for the 2018 Men's Basketball Championship.

Southwestern University got off to a strong start, going 2-0 on the road over the weekend against Austin College and Centenary College. The Pirates are the only team without a loss in the SCAC standings.

The University of Dallas and Centenary each sit at 2-1 in SCAC play, going 1-1 over the weekend. Centenary fell to SU, but defeated Texas Lutheran University at home, while the Crusaders came up short on Friday at Trinity, but rallied late against Schreiner to earn the win.

Four teams sit at 1-1 this season, Trinity, Colorado College, Texas Lutheran and Schreiner University.

After getting down early, Trinity started off the first half against UD on a 10-0 run to post the comeback win over the Crusaders. Trinity battled with Colorado College in their other game over the weekend. After getting down 45-31 at the break, CC's advantage proved too much to overcome and the visiting Tigers earned the team's first conference win of the season.

Schreiner was able to defeat the Colorado College Tigers, posting a 76-70 win. CC had a five-point lead at halftime, but the Mountaineers held a 44-33 advantage in the second half.

The final win of the weekend belonged to Texas Lutheran University. The Bulldogs faced off against Austin College Sunday, earning a 79-69 win.
