SCAC Men's Basketball Recap - Week Six

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - All eight Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference men's basketball teams competed over the holiday break, with a couple more teams opening up their conference schedules.

Austin College and Centenary College began SCAC play just before the end of 2017, with the Gents coming out on top in a 91-63 victory. Centenary joins the University of Dallas atop the league standings, both at 1-0 early in the conference schedule.

The two teams also hold the best overall records, with the Crusaders at 7-3 and the Gents at 7-4.

Southwestern University won its only game over the break, defeating McMurry University, 85-74. The Pirates moved to 4-6 on the season.

Trinity University dropped to 6-5 on the season, the third best record in the league, after a pair of losses in a trip to the northwest last week.

Colorado College split their games at the Pikes Peak Classic, defeating Cornell College, 69-65, but falling to Hardin-Simmons University in overtime, 84-81.
